An engagement has been initiated to explore opportunities for mutually beneficial relationship between the Petroleum Authority of Uganda and Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA), following the recent signing of the implementation agreement for Uganda’s crude oil refinery. Dr. Ezra Muhumuza, the Executive Director of Uganda Manufacturers Association had a meeting with Mr. Ernest Rubondo, the Executive Director of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda. The discussion focused on identifying opportunities for Uganda’s manufacturers through market access, supply of goods like steel products, construction materials, protective gears. It was highlighted that during policy formulation, UMA can ensure that local manufacturers interests are considered, especially during the design stage of the refinery. UMA continues to pledge its commitment to advancing member needs regarding the Petro-chemical industry in Uganda.
