The Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) proudly welcomes Mr. Aga Sekalala Jr. (@AgaSekalala) as our new Board Chairman, bringing a wealth of experience in business leadership, industrial growth, and policy advocacy. A seasoned entrepreneur and industry leader, Mr. Sekalala Jr. has played a pivotal role in shaping Uganda’s manufacturing landscape through strategic investments in agro-processing, media, and industrial development.
As the CEO of Ugachick Poultry Breeders, he has been instrumental in localizing Uganda’s poultry value chain, driving self-sufficiency in production, and strengthening the agribusiness sector. His leadership in industrial advocacy extends to his previous roles as Vice Chairman of UMA, Chairman of the Poultry Producers of Uganda, and Board Member of the Uganda Investment Authority, where he championed policies that support manufacturing growth, investment incentives, and value addition.
With a strong foundation in engineering and strategic business development, Mr. Sekalala Jr. is committed to steering UMA toward greater industrial competitiveness, fostering innovation, and driving policy reforms that enhance Uganda’s manufacturing ecosystem. His vision is centered on industrial expansion, access to markets, sustainable production, and strengthening local and regional supply chains to position Ugandan manufacturers for global competitiveness.
Under his leadership, UMA will continue to advocate for a pro-business regulatory environment, infrastructure development, and financial sustainability for manufacturers, ensuring that the sector remains a key driver of Uganda’s economic growth and job creation.
