Ugandan manufacturers are taking bold steps toward expanding their footprint across Africa through a targeted capacity-building initiative under the Uganda Manufacturers Association in partnership with TradeMark Africa.
The ongoing AfCFTA training workshop is equipping manufacturers with critical knowledge on the technical aspects of cross-border trade. Participants are gaining practical insights into Rules of Origin, tariff concessions, and export documentation—key requirements for accessing duty-free trade opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
This initiative is designed to bridge knowledge gaps and empower Ugandan businesses to fully leverage AfCFTA, positioning them to compete more effectively in regional markets.
By strengthening exporters’ understanding of compliance and trade processes, the program is expected to accelerate Uganda’s industrial growth, boost intra-African trade, and open new market opportunities for locally manufactured products.
As Ugandan manufacturers deepen their readiness for continental trade, initiatives like this continue to play a vital role in transforming the country into a competitive export-driven economy.
