As you may be aware, on 15 February, Uganda Manufacturers Association hosted the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa to an energy dialogue between the electricity sector Agencies, and the members of the Uganda Manufacturers Association.
One of the key issues that were presented to the Minister was the discrimination of products made in Uganda, especially the Electricity Supply Industry.
In her response, the Minister;
1) Tasked the UMA to compile a list of locally made products that can be supplied to the Electricity Supply Industry and other energy-related projects,
2) Tasked the Electricity Regulatory Authority and Public Procurement and Disposal Authority (PPDA) to fast-track the harmonization of bidding specifications and requirements that will allow local companies to participate in the local procurement.
This email, therefore, serves to request you to share a list of products that your company can supply. Kindly fill in the attached form and send it to policy@uma.or.ug by 2nd March 2023. This information will be pertinent to securing market opportunities for your company, especially in the Electricity Supply Industry.
