Uganda International Trade Fair (UGITF)

 

Uganda Manufacturers Association, the organizers of the Uganda International Trade Fair, with pleasure wish to invite your company / organization to participate in the above-mentioned event.

 

UGITF is a well established multi-sectoral trade event that has in the last eighteen  (18) years provided a unique platform for marketing products and services. It has enabled participants from overseas to introduce new and improved technologies on the Ugandan and East African markets. This year, Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th October, 2011 are the 2 days that have been designated specifically for business (business days). On these 2 days exhibitors will have more time to transact business. You may arrange for meetings, targeted invitees, special demonstrations, talks, cocktails to suit your specific requirements during this time.

 

UGITF’s business success is demonstrated by the increased participation of exhibitors from both the foreign and in the host country. UGITF 2010 attracted 964 exhibitors from 23 countries. There were five national pavilions put up by the Republic of South Africa, Kenya, Britain, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates. Several other exhibitors came from Egypt, Japan, Ghana, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Germany, Zimbabwe, India, Iran, Nigeria, Singapore, Cameroon, Tanzania, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Italy and Uganda.

 

 

Cost of Exhibition Space

 

·         Hall 1 US $ 100 Per Square metre plus 18% VAT (Minimum space is 9 square metres)

·         Hall 2 (still under construction) but with ready built stands (octanom system) US $ 50 per square metre (minimum space is 9 square metres

·         Indoor space (on cement / terrazzo floor) US $ 90 per square metre

     (minimum space is 9 square metres)

·         Indoor bare space US $ 85 per square metre (minimum space is 9 square metres)

·         Outdoor space (bare ground) US $ 900 per 30 square metres (inc. VAT 18%) minimum 30 square metres

UMA ORGANISES TAIWANESE BUSINESS DELEGATION & BUSINESS NETWORKING LUNCHEON ON 27th FEBRUARY 2012 AT THE UMA MULTI-PURPOSE HALL AT 9.30AM.'

The trade mission will include a mini exhibition of Taiwanese products/ services that include food processing machinery, solar, plastics, freight forwarding and motor vehicle parts.

There will also be business to business meeting between the delegation and the Ugandan business community during the event.

The Chief Guest will be Hon. Amelia Kyambadde, the Minister for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives.

Mr. Mike Hung, the leader of the Taiwanese delegation and Mr. Mohan Kiwanuka,(Chairman of Oscar Industries and Chairman of the UMA Economic sub-committee) will give a key note address on ‘Vocational Training , a key to Industrial Development”

We will also be honored to host Hon. Muyingo Chrysotom, the state Minister for higher Education who will also give some remarks on the same subject.

Cards are on sale at shs 40,000 for individuals and shs 300,000 a corporate table of 10.

Daily Monitor:

The Government of Tanzania and Uganda are in plans to construct a railway line from Tanzania through Uganda to South Sudan. The planned line is expected to be a second direct link to the coastline and will improve Uganda International trade transactions as it will be an alternative route to the sea after Mombasa. Construction of the line is expected to start in the second half of this year and will go on up to 2015, being founded by both Uganda and Tanzania.

New Vision:

Oil & Gas production in the country is expected to begin 2013 according to Tullow Oil.How this will be on a small scale and will be for the local power market.
