Event title 1/2 Day Seminar \"Subtle Impact of Corruption on Busines\"
Where: Uganda Manufacturers Association Showground Lugogo - Kampala
Category: Conference

Event description:
Unfair competition impedes business growth and sustainability. For every challenge faced by the business community in Uganda, corruption can be traced as one of the significant underlying causes. All businesses are affected by this vice at various stages of the value chain. Ethics in Business is no longer a value for a few entities but has become a critical success factor that can lead to competitiveness and sustainability. As manufacturers, we ought to be seen to dissociate ourselves from corruption as much as possible if we are to gain credibility and be accepted by the market. It is against this background that Uganda Manufacturers Association in collaboration with the USAID ACT programme has organized a half day seminar with the theme “The Subtle Impact of Corruption on Competitiveness, and the Role of Ethics In Business Sustainability”. The seminar shall take place on the 24th of November 2009, in the UMA Conference Hall, starting at 9:00 Am – 12:30 pm. At this seminar, we shall look at:  ·         How corruption impacts business competitiveness. ·         Manufacturers views on corruption and how it has impacted their business, and possible strategies for combating corruption.·         The role of ethics in sustainable business.·         The Possibility of developing a code of conduct and how it can benefit manufacturers. Main Speakers are 1.       Mr. Charles Ocici from Enterprise Uganda and 2.       Mr. Ashabwa Aheebwa Former Director Ethics, Presidents Office.  You are therefore invited to participate in this important seminar. «REFUND».  Please confirm your participation as soon as possible.
